On June 21, the Berlin Centre for Consumer Policies (BCCP) will host its 4th conference on consumer policy making putting a special focus on digital markets and transactions mediated by online platforms.
Emphasizing the rise of corporate power within digital markets, the conference aims to take a closer look at measurement of market power, the role of competition policy, and the potential need for regulatory intervention – core issues in the current academic and policy discussion. Over the course of the conference, leading academics and local as wells as European policy makers will discuss these issues in different session, namely:
- Session 1: The Rise of Market Power
- Session 2: Political Consequences of Corporate Power in Digital Markets
- Roundtable: Consumer and Competition Policy in Times of Rising Corporate Power
